someone once told me that i should be fierce

to conquer my demons

they made it seem like the demons

in ourselves never knew of love

but when i took a step back

to forgive my demons

they shrunk down to their feet

and sobbed in my arms

only then i knew

they are also scared,

tired and lonely

a lot like us
