BUTTERFLIES LIKE ME

The sky stood afar, far from her grasp to hold the burning stars and tell each of them how much she loved.

As everytime she leaned up to reach for the stars, the darkness held her back and chained her beneath a live tombstone. And perhaps the stars never fell down to rescue it’s lover; it stood there and watched her disappear into the night.

But one day, the girl who vanished came out of the hole and stretched her wings wide under the warmth. She had become a butterfly then; one beautiful and brave.

And so that day the sun took her in his arms and loved her forever.
